Six Spots to Love in Seoul
Lovely and amazing. Two words that always come in my mind whenever I think about South Korea. While doing my best in “staying at home”, I cannot help but reminisce about beautiful South Korea; so I will be sharing with you my 6 most favorite spots in Seoul. You might want to include these places in your itinerary when you visit Seoul after our battle with COVID-19.
Myeongdong
I love this place not just because of the scrumptious street foods, countless shoe stores, and hundreds of beauty products around, but also because of the happy vibes it gives me.
Whenever I come back from a long day visiting tourist spots in Seoul, I spend my night walking around while trying out foods in the lively street of Myeongdong. I liked the noise of the excited tourists around me, voices of the vendors selling their products, and seeing some romantic local couples on a date. Even though I went there alone, I didn’t feel lonely at all.
Ehwa Women’s University
This place is popular among the tourists because of its eye-catching façade. I personally like the glass wall that goes from the entrance of the university to the school building. The glass looks like a wall from afar but if you look closely, those are actually windows and doors. There are several food and school supplies stores inside, and even a cinema and a bank.
Moreso, there are a lot of souvenir shops outside the university where you can find official and unofficial merchandise of your favorite kpop idols.
K-Style Hub
If you’re a tourist, you definitely should visit K-Style Hub. Not only it is easy to find, since it is located along the Cheonggyecheon Stream, but you can also learn a lot about what Koreans are very proud of. An hour was not enough and I regret not going there early as there were a lot of activities to do inside. You can also try ‘hanbok’ for free.
This place caught my attention because of the interactive displays and interior design. It was like a different kind of museum. I will definitely go back on my next visit to Seoul.
N Seoul Tower
I have quite a few unforgettable moments in this place so it really has to be one of my favorite places. The night tour bus left while I was taking a few shots of the beautiful place during a quick stop at the Namsan Bus Stop just below the tower. The same night, I went back with a friend who I just met that day and we went up the tower to see the beauty of Seoul skyline.
It was a fun experience and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Seoul Subway
Yes! Seoul subway has a place in my heart. I love how easy it was for me to know which station I was at, which station I should get off if I want to go to a certain place, and where to change lines without getting confused. The signs were all translated in English (although I can read and understand basic Korean), even the announcement inside the train.
As a fan of a popular kpop band (BTS 방탄소년단), it was a delight for me that I get to see a lot of birthday and congratulatory greetings from the fans, inside the trains and within the subway station.
Lastly, I love that there are cafes, beauty products stores, and kpop merchandise shops inside the subway station. Who needs to go out and spend time outside in the cold when you can get anything you want inside the station?
Seoul Cafes
I didn’t get to spend a lot of time in many cafes but as for some that I have been to, I love how creative the decorations are. Also, the drinks are not just cute but also taste really good. No wonder café birthday events for k-idols are such a hit!
Maybe, I will have to make my next visit a Seoul café tour. We’ll see.
There are many lovely places in Seoul and it’s really hard to choose just six; these spots just really gave me beautiful memories. Do you have your own list of favorite spots in Seoul?
