Victoria Peak: Hong Kong's Pride

Ni hao!
Have you been to Hong Kong before? Have you tried going up the Victoria Peak using the tram? If not, are you considering it? YOU BETTER DO! Here’s why:

1)     The Peak Tram
The Peak Tram is a must-try experience when in Hong Kong. It is a railway that transports tourists from the terminus at the Central District to the top of the mountain which is the Victoria Peak. Remember that getting there early is a must if you hate falling in line for hours. The place is usually packed in the afternoon since most of the tourists want to be at the overlooking Sky Terrace during the night time.

2)    Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum
I remember probably almost a decade ago, I felt so amazed when I saw my cousins’ pictures with the celebrity waxes when they went to Hong Kong. Back then, I never thought I’d be able to see those in person since I am not born to a rich family and travelling was such a luxurious thing to do. Fast forward to 2018, this wax museum already landed a spot in my itinerary when I’ve decided to go to Hong Kong for my first ever trip abroad.

As a girl who loves watching local and international movies and series, my heart can’t stop jumping in excitement upon seeing the life-like waxes. There were Hollywood, Bollywood, and even K-pop idols! (Yes, I am a kpop fan) I would never miss the chance to have pictures with these hallyu heartthrobs. My k-pop and k-drama-loving heart bounced in happiness.

There were lots of rooms/sections inside so make sure you go there with your memory card and batteries ready. The tour inside would probably take you an hour or two depending on the number of visitors and how much you wanted to take pictures of and with the waxes. I honestly didn't take much time in some of the sections since I wasn't familiar with those artists. Also, we were so lucky to arrive there at the time when most of the tourists probably chose to roam outside the museum first.

3)      Sky Terrace 428
This is a nice “kind of” bonus for us when we pre-booked this whole Victoria Peak activity. Usually, tickets to the Peak Tram, Madame Tussaud’s and Sky Terrace are paid separately.
After we got starsstruck and did a lot of photo ops with the celebrities, we went to the Sky Terrace 428 to see the beauty of the country 428 meters above sea level.

You will have to ride the escalator several times to go up but I promise it's all gonna be worth it for something that's already included in the activity package. Just look at how fascinating the view is from that floor. The huge clear glass windows of this building is so perfectly made to showcase the amazing beauty of Hong Kong.

So, here's the view from the Sky Terrace 428! So picturesque! The wind blows hard up above there and you will feel the cold January breeze even if the sun shines directly at you. However, the place might not be for those who have fear of heights.

Additional:

Since we booked a tour from an app for booking travel activities, the rendezvous was at the Central District MTR station. And then, we walked for a few minutes to get to The Peak Tram terminus. It saved us from a tremendous waiting time just to get to the peak.

Just like I said, since we pre-booked this activity though an app, we didn’t have to fall in line for the ticket. They just handed it out to us and viola!
